Whats up everyone.  So this week was decent, we were pretty busy because we had to do choir practice a couple times this week. And got straight punted by most of the people here. But we happened to some good lessons with our solid people so that was good. It's about quality not quantity. It didn't really rain either this week which was nice, but I think we are close to rainy season.  We were walking to the big mall on wed to go pay our bill and we ran into this guy cause he yelled out "elders!" we talked to him and told him I'm from Calgary Canada, and then he told me his trainee was from Calgary, when he served in the Baguio Mission back in the day. I asked him what his name was, and he told me it was Kipp Craig! My stake president. He couldn't believe it and then we chatted and took a picture. Small world he said lol.  So yeah then on Thursday night at like 9 pm on our way home from this less active member and she told us to come to their house rig...

Hey everyone, sorry I didn't email last week, but I got transferred! I'm finally in my second area! Only 1 hour away in the mountains in Baguio City. My new comp is Elder Harvey from West Valley Utah. They have a sick skate park there. But yeah he just finished his training so I'm his follow up trainer. He's super funny though.  He's hardworking and we have gotten along really well in the first week.  Our apartment and area are so dope, it feels like a different mission up here. They have pretty much anything, and tons of different food to choose from. We have kabahay (roommates) 2 pinos and they're awesome. We couldn't proselyte yesterday because of the election. So today was our P-day. But last week was dope and I said bye to all my people in Sison. I love that place and the members there. Gonna miss it.  My MTC comp Elder Cooper took my place in Sison which is hilarious. I hope he'll like it down there, I just feel bad cause its hard to get wat...

May 5, 2019 [Short e-mail from Aidan this week, he is being transferred so had limited time] Hey Fam: I’m headed to Baguio City!! Burnham park, which is at the heart of the city and the most popular park in the city, it’s pretty well known.  I heard that tons of people speak english, but I still want to improve my Tagalog so I’ll work on it. This is the area that all the missionaries in my mission hope to go to!! I have that talk by Tad R Callister!! about the BofM and how it was either man made or god given.  Tons of evidence.  I know it comes from god because I’ve felt the power of the testimonies of the prophets.  There could be so much historical evidence about it to make it true but it really goes down to: I have felt that it is true and Jospeh Smith is a prophet because of the spirit that I’ve felt.  Hard to explain a little bit.  The saviour and his teaching give us so much purpose and meaning in life, I sometimes...

Okay, another great week here in my area. First off, I didn't feel any of the earthquake, other people in our area told us they did. Too bad, I've never experienced an earthquake before. BESIDES that though the boys outside of our house are deep now in our well.  Met the main mayor candidate on Tuesday while we were getting water up the hill across the highway. Nice guy. Um Had some exchanges this week with Elder Hawks, he's from Houston. We had a fund day. That day there was a huge political rally for the mayor candidate we met earlier that week. Teaching wasn't so effective because everyone was there. Elder Hawks bought a 16 inch hot doge though haha. Freak I should've gotta pic.  On Friday we went back to Central and I guess circumcision was free or something the night before because there were tons of 7-10 year old boys running around holding their shorts out in front of them hahaha. SO this week was pretty good, its hot as freak and everyone in the Philippines is running for some political position. I see a new face being hung up everyday running for Councillor, congressman, mayor or whatever, maybe ill put my own face up - "Elder Garry for Mayor" lol Anyway though Happy Easter!! Easter was pretty good, pretty ironic that we had like the least amount of people ever at our branch this week on Easter Sunday. I gave a talk on Resurrection, a few points from i t: - We are so lucky to have the gift of resurrection for each of us - No matter what happens to our bodies and spirits will reunite once again after death - Through the atonement of Jesus Christ this is possible   So blessed this Easter to be thinking of our Saviour Jesus Christ, and all that he has done for us, sometimes we forget the importance of this time of year. I don't know what to subject these emails but yeah whats up everyone. idk who reads these. This week was fun, had a zone conference and then got to watch General Conference on Saturday and Sunday. My water situation is still a mess. Everyone lines up their buckets on one faucet in the neighbourhood we live in, the water comes on sometimes, but I feel like no one has jobs, everyone just spends all day getting water haha, feel kinda bad. They're digging a bunch of holes outside our house too. they're 16 metres deep on one and still no water. Hahaha idk who decided to build houses here but whoever they are they're kind of stupid. General Conference was super good. President Nelson is the goat, his talk on covenants was my favourite I think, I thought it really applied to me as a missionary. Hey this week was pretty solid, don't even know what to say really, hit the 6 month mark here on the mish. Haven't watched General Conference yet, but I heard it was really good. It's delayed here in the peens so we are all watching it at the stake centre in Agoo this Saturday and Sunday. I think a lot of people thought that they could watch it in Agoo so we had like 15 people show up to church. Testimony meeting was really awesome. Work was pretty tough this week, we got punted pretty hard. I feel the work in the Philippines was just so prime back in the day in the 60s and 70's and now there are so many churches in the Peens it's hard to find people that are interested. Also everyone sleeps from like 2-3pm, and its getting hot out here, we are approaching hot season baby.  Was in a lesson this week with our recent convert and she was asking why the membership in our branch is so small.
