Countdown to Manila
Hello everyone.
This week was very good. So I got put into a trio for the last 2 weeks of my time here at the MTC since Elder Tomlin got reassigned to Atlanta. Gonna miss that guy. He has the best jokes and makes everyone feel good about themselves. But being in a trio is super dope. Elder Cooper has joined us so that's awesome. I get a long with him really well. He is a lot better at Tagalog so he has been helping us out a lot.
Anyway Happy Halloween, sad to miss my favourite time of year but its alright. We spent the night putting on a show for our zone. Elder Miller from my district bought a dress from the MTC store somehow and put it on Halloween night. It was hilarious. Me and him put on a little show for the district. It was super stupid but hilarious. We spent the night eating a bunch of candy and food.

Elder Carpenter of the Seventy came and spoke to us on companionship which was perfect for us because it made me realize how lucky I was to be with two guys that I enjoy being with. Elder Jewett has tons of qualities that I don't and Elder Carpenter said we have to become vulnerable to that person, which means show your weaknesses to each other so we can build each other up. Elder Cooper is a really nice addition to our companionship to help build us up.
Crazy how I've been here for 4 weeks. It's gone by fast and it's been so fun. My teacher Brother Spencer teaches us so much every night. He's so humble and knowledgeable about the gospel and Tagalog. He's like 24. He taught us to "Bloom where you are planted" which I loved because no matter where you are you have to try your best. Make the most out of terrible circumstances. Something I didn't realize in Edmonton... lol. I still had so much fun there. It makes me think of Joseph in Egypt which is like the classic Bible story but is so good. We can really learn from him.
Tagalog is fun, it's gonna be weird to talk to actual Filipinos. I'm pretty scared, but it'll be so fun. There's still so much to learn. Even here at the MTC.
I got my travel plans today!! But the thing is I have a flight to Los Angeles but no flight to the Philippines in my travel itinerary. So I'll have to figure that out... I'm sure everything will be fine. I'm trying to enjoy the MTC as much as I can, because the actual field will be much harder. Love you all!!
Elder Garry
