Manila!

Hey! So on Monday we left for the Philippines and had a long journey of travelling to get here. We had a long wait time in LAX but it was nice to eat some fast food. Going to miss the cold and Provo MTC and all the good times I spent there. We then had our long flight to Manila and that was okay cause I slept for lots of it.

We got picked up by a shuttle van to take us to the Philippines MTC. The drive was wild, the cops carry around these big shotguns and they drive so crazy here, so much traffic, and motorcycles everywhere. The Billboards are really weird too, every person on it is like a really white Filipino. The city is just insane and there are people walking around everywhere. I feel like everyone is so close to crashing into each other as well. So entertaining.

The MTC is super nice, right across from the temple. Everything is so green and colourful here too. It's really hot, even at night. I still can't believe I'll be living here for two years. The food here is delicious as well, the bread its amazing and so soft.  The fruit is amazing as well. Rice is served with every meal.

Really excited to get to the field next week too. This is kind of like an introduction for the next two years. I just know it's gonna be a good time.

Yesterday we had a "good emergency" and were told to go to the gym. David Archeleta showed up and sang for us!!! He sang some songs and shared his testimony about missions. Super spiritual and amazing how he is so talented and famous but his faith in God is still so strong. I feel like it would be very easy for lots of people to leave the church because of their fame and feel like they don't need it. So mad respect.

Super excited for the rest of my time here. Still so much I need to work on each day and wouldn't want to be anywhere else besides in the Philippines serving the people here.

Love you all!
