Fun Week

Hey everyone, my week was super fun. As Elder Bod says, lets dive in:

So I'll start off on Wednesday, we were walking around Poblacion Central (which is a neighbourhood where a lot of people live) and we were on our way to someones house and this guy came up to me, and I can't remember if I mentioned him last week week, but its this guy thats kinda obsessed with me. He has a problem with his speech, so its impossible to understand him, but he kept walking around with us and holding my hand, everyone was staring at us it was really weird, I was trying to tell him we had to go but he wanted us to go to his house to eat. Eventually I got free from him, but he kept following us. Super weird but nice guy I guess.

Thursday we had our Zone Conference in Agoo with President and his wife. He told us about our new mission President we are getting in June! He's from Farmington Utah so that should be a lot different than my Filipino mission pres, but I'm excited. I don't think the Filipinos in my mission are though lol. We had some really good workshops about obedience and loving your companion.

Saturday was probably the funnest day of the week, we had a service project in the morning to go tear down this members hut up on the hill and bring down all the bamboo and wood back down to their house. It was fun to destroy some stuff. Then we made some buko (coconut) juice which was delicious. Then proselyting was fun, because we taught some interesting people. First was a inactive member we call santa because he literally looks like santa, maybe next time I'll get a picture of him. Hes pretty old and has this huge white beard and chubby. He has no teeth as well, but hes the nicest guy around and had a stroke a couple years ago so its really hard for him to get around. Loved teaching him though. Then we taught this newly convert fam and they have a bakla friend (homosexual) friend named Jonaline who wears lipstick and short shorts, definitely an interesting guy but willing to listen to us so that was cool. S(he) wanted a picture with me after as well :). Elder Provido called him brother and he was kinda offended. It was pure accident haha.

ANYWAY, Elder Jeffrey R. Holland came and spoke to a stake in the Philippines this week, and we got to watch it for our stake conference. He spoke on obedience and the Saviour which was really good. He talked about how obedience is the first law of heaven. And how obedient the Saviour was to His Father. I thought about my life as a missionary and how important obedience is. Even though we don't want to or think we have a better way of doing things. I think of Matthew 26:39 that says "And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt." Love this verse because even Jesus the son of God had things he didn't want to do, but it wasn't up to him. Sometimes we just gotta do things to get them done. Not because we want to, but because it is the most intelligent thing to do.

I continually see how much the gospel blesses peoples lives and my own life. I feel so privileged and lucky to be here serving a mission. I've learned so much about this gospel the person I want to become. I have developed a really strong relationship with my own Saviour. He is everything and has showed us the way. Love you all :0
