New Rules

Image
[ Aidan was unable to send an email last week, Feb 17 because he said they were changing his email.  We were able to speak to him though, with the new rules.  He was excited to speak to us but it was a challenge due to poor connection and terrible feedback whenever we spoke.  Below is the email he sent today, Feb 24, along with some photos ] Hey everyone its been a min,  Got like no time rn so I'll keep it quick. We had a baptism this week for a sweet girl named Mariel. She's 14. I'm super proud of her decision to be baptized and receive the gospel. [ Aidan says she is the only one in her family to join but they are teaching her parents] Super tight to talk to the fam, that's been good. There are like no cameras here in the computer shops, so it's been a struggle. And we have had no running water for the last two weeks. Good thing the nanay that lives beside us is hooking us up when her boss isn't watching. She's the real goat this week.  We...

Pretty decent, besides a couple things

Hey everyone, this week was pretty decent, besides a couple things.\ We had our interview for Salvador's baptism on Tuesday, turns out he smoked the night before so he couldn't be baptized. Super sad and we felt really bad, sucks that so many temptations come up right before someone's baptism. I also know that giving up an addiction like that is super hard. But I have hope that he will be able to do it and be baptized soon.  I had fish like everyday this week, I think Saturday was the only day I didn't have fish. But it's really good, I can't complain. Our investigator Mariel is really read for baptism! She's 14 and loves going to the activities and Church. Her friends got baptized the other month, the recent converts really have an effect on other people. They're so new to the gospel and their friends see how much their lives have changed. And then we got to teach Mariel's family this week, she's got a super nice family and hope...

Just a sold week bud

Hello everyone Another killer week in the peens. The Philippines is beautiful and the people are too, really precious humans.   Our neighbour died this week, pretty sad, she was really old though. I didn't know funerals lasted a week long though. The old lady was really sick for a long time, I think it was her time.   Proselyting has gotten a lot better for me, I'm starting to enjoy it more, and realized how selfish I have been to study as long as I can before I go out lol, but as the language and my teaching skills have improved, I have come to like it. On Tuesday we were walking to on of our "peoples" house and right as they saw us coming they bolted inside, closed the door and turned off the lights. So funny I started laughing so hard at how poor they were at being sneaky. We were like 10 metres away from them. Kinda sad though, we are just two young kids trying to help you, and we sure do walk a long way to talk to you. It's alright though, It wa...
