Past Two Weeks :)
I forgot to send this email last week but here it is:
Hey everyone! This week was awesome. Our zone is so dope, we just got another Australian Elder so I think 80% of the zone is foreigners. Its getting rainy in Baguio but it gets colder throughout the day so its really nice.
This week we had tons of lessons with new people we have met. I was kinda thinking how weird missionary work is. Just like we come to this country and learn their language and teach them about Jesus Christ and how much he loves us. We get to know lots of people and they tell us what they're going through. Even though their culture is a lot different there are a lot of similarities between people.
One guy we were teaching named Harvey is going through some stuff and how his kid had died just last year from some heart disease, so he's been going through some stuff, and he can't find enough evidence in the scriptures that there are many blessings that we will receive if we follow Jesus and his Gospel. And we shared a scripture in Alma 32:21 talking about faith."...faith is not to have a perfect knowledge of things; therefore if ye have faith ye hope for things which are not seen, which are true." Thought this tied really well in his situation and it was cool because I was studying this chapter early that day.
Like I said above I think missionary work is weird but its so awesome at the same time. I've learned so much while I've been here. I don't feel homesick anymore. I love it here.
Miss you all though don't forget that :)
Okay this is the one from this week:
So yeah this week was good, again, a little hard to see none of our investigators come to church :( but it's alright. But we went to this party with the AP's with the other Elder's in our district and had a big dinner for the people that saved them in the river the last week haha. It turned out to be a good way to share the gospel.
Ate some more dog this week (just a little) (hope we don't get rabies)
Taught some drunk people, it's actually quite sad how many people drink, not just in this country but in the rest of the world.
We were teaching this less active member and I felt so bad for her. Her husband is literally gone to work and comes home drunk everyday. They have 3 kids and she's pretty much on her own. She said it has been so hard, and she wants to come back to church but she works. But anyway, that day had been rough and I just had another moment on the mission where I was so grateful for the life I have been given back at home. But I tried everything I could to encourage her and to always pray and ask help from our Father in Heaven.
Anyway though I love it out here, and it has for sure changed my whole perspective on life.
Love you all hope you have a good week :)
