Hey! (short one)

Image
Hey everyone, got like no time so I'll keep it real short. Not much to report this week besides, we are still trying to get people to pray read and come to church. I thought it would've been a lot easier in the Philippines, but its hard. Maybe its my area, we really have way too much to cover and we don't have bikes or anything, so travelling is a struggle. Ate some really good food this week, had some rain, and I don't know why but it felt more like Asia when it was raining.  Had follow up training in San Fernando which was nice to see my old comps there. Miss those guys. Elder Cooper is practically fluent in Tagalog.  This transfer has gone by so fast and I'm scared I'll be training next transfer. If I got an english speaking comp too we would be screwed but part of me wants to have one haha.  I forgot to mention this last week but it really hit me, when Jeffrey R Holland came to spoke to us, he talked about Church and how the 2 hour cha...

Good Week January 20, 2019 Letter

Hey everyone I had a killer week here in the sweaty Philippines. Getting a little sick of no toilet paper and eating rice for breakfast lunch and dinner. So this week I finally received my Christmas Package so I was crazy happy about that, all my fav snacks and treats were in it. It had the 12 days of Christmas inside but since Christmas is already over, I opened all of them at once. My comp Elder Provido got the same presents so that was awesome, we were both so astonished by the things we got. Best Christmas ever so far on the mish. Haha, All the letter from the family made me cry like a baby 'cause I love them so much. No lie there.  The rest of the week was super fun, we taught tons of lessons, went on exchanges and that was really fun. It's almost more fun to walk around with another American and fully embrace the stares and push ourselves to speak their language so they can understand us. I've been super impressed with my Tagalog, as I've learned so m...

Fun Week

Hey everyone, my week was super fun. As Elder Bod says, lets dive in:  So I'll start off on Wednesday, we were walking around Poblacion Central (which is a neighbourhood where a lot of people live) and we were on our way to someones house and this guy came up to me, and I can't remember if I mentioned him last week week, but its this guy thats kinda obsessed with me. He has a problem with his speech, so its impossible to understand him, but he kept walking around with us and holding my hand, everyone was staring at us it was really weird, I was trying to tell him we had to go but he wanted us to go to his house to eat. Eventually I got free from him, but he kept following us. Super weird but nice guy I guess.  Thursday we had our Zone Conference in Agoo with President and his wife. He told us about our new mission President we are getting in June! He's from Farmington Utah so that should be a lot different than my Filipino mission pres, but I'm excited. I don...

Bagong Taon, Bagong Buhay

Lol, whats up everyone. This week we experienced New Years in the Philippines, which was a little crazy (as expected). We live close to the crossing road to Baguio so there was really bad traffic to get around. Fireworks going off all day, little kids making fires and lighting things off. Everyone doing Karaoke and drinking all day. Really funny. All the teenage girls here are obsessed with the Korean culture, and they all practice their dances to their songs. Its hilarious. My comp always tells them hes from Korea lol.  So New Years eve I ate Balot again at a members house during dinner. It was pretty nasty but I didn't throw up so that was good. Besides that the food here is incredible, I'm really starting to like it. Except for the snacks, all their snacks are just cheesy something or buttery something, but all fake stuff. Sometimes when we are eating rice and some kind of meat, its better just to not ask what it is, because its better not knowing. That night we had a...

Bye to 2018

Dec. 31, 2018 Hello everyone, hope everyone had an awesome Christmas!! My week was really fun. We had our Branch Christmas party and tons of people came. Including some of our "new people" and played games and ate tons of food.  Christmas was really awesome too! Loved talking to my fam on skype. Way too much to talk about haha. There’s already so many people here, but even more during Christmas time, so many people celebrating in the streets and they're so nice.  It’s so awesome here, even though it kinda feels like everyone is camping, it’s starting to feel like home. I totally felt like there was no spirit anymore after I left the Provo MTC, it’s starting to come back, now that I'm more used to living here. I know that it will keep getting better and better as time goes on, if I work hard. I forgot to tell you about all the Primary kids sending me all those letters! They were hilarious. All the kids drawings and hoping that I'm having fu...
