Hey everyone!! So this week was good. Had quite a bit of rain, it has been raining for two weeks now. But it finally stopped the other day. Then it just gets hot when there are no clouds.  Work was pretty good, we have a lot of new investigators. It's just hard to find the people that are so ready. Most tell us another time and then the people that do let us in, just feel like they're doing a good thing by listening to the word of God. Then they like the reminder that God loves us and through Jesus Christ we are saved. That's why I always ask them why they think there are so many different beliefs. It usually strikes up a conversation and then we share. Works pretty well most of the time.  My trainee Elder Baylon is awesome, couldn't ask for a better comp. He is willing to learn and is so skilled already. We have a good time together. Training has helped me focus on our purpose as missionaries and focus on myself on how I can be better. I still have so many thin...

Hey everyone, so yeah i got mad sick this week. Everyone in my apartment did. Tuesday was interesting, my comp was throwing up when we were proselyting, but he wanted to stay out and work. Thats my boy. My trainee is awesome.  When were were teaching some old lady who was like pure ilokano, she could understand what we were saying but we couldn't understand her ahaha, kinda got weird. my comp asked he if she had any of that effervescent oil stuff, for his stomach. she then grabbed some and then said she will be the one to put in on, so she pulled up my comps shirt and started rubbing the oil on his stomach and then she started praying in ilokano. me and my comp just looked at each other like what the heck ahahah I tried not to laugh. We thanked her and left, then my comp threw up in the gutter. hahaha.  I then got sick on Friday, woke up puking my guts out, which was nasty. There was a storm this whole week so it got super cold in our house, so i had the chills super bad....

Hey so don't have tons of time but I'll cover a few things.  Went down to the mission home to meet my new trainee. We had trainers training first with the AP's and president. It was super good. Learned tons, and their house is sick. I got to work with Elder Garn who is in my batch in his area. Because he was training too so we worked in his area and stayed the night at his apartment. His area was so dope, kinda hot but he's got aircon in his house.  Then the next day we picked up the trainees and had breakfast in the mission home. Felt like a breakfast back at home, so nice in their home.  I picked up my trainee, he is from Davao, the same place as my trainer. I joked around with him and told him I was out for two months ahahah, he got so scared. Then i told him the truth.  But anyway it was super fun, we got pics and then headed home. He was so happy to be assigned in Baguio. Had some special experiences already with the guy, he's hilarious, pretty...

Been waiting for this day for a while, but I'm finally training! My companion Elder Harvey just got transferred to Damortis. (the mansion house) Lucky guy but not jealous of that heat. Gonna miss that man. SO I'll go down to San Fernando on Wednesday and pic up my trainee. But I'm excited, I wonder if he'll be Pinoy or American. Or maybe poly to mix it up. That would be fun. The last week was good though, we've been working hard in this area, and we have planted a lot of seeds of faith. Elder Harvey was here for 6 months and didn't see anybody get baptized but he planted so many roots of faith. The stats may not say so, but he's a successful missionary in my eyes. He works hard, helps people feel good, and tries his very best. We developed such a strong relationship, even though we argued over Canada and America hahaha.  Yeah, Baguio has been a dream, the members here are sick, I feel like we are getting closer with them, and our investigators. It...

Typhoon, eh - July 22, 2019

Yeah so there was a huge typhoon this week in Baguio and I think the Island. It was cool though, reminded me of back at home in the mountains during the winter and you're just snowboarding in the clouds. Kinda like that but it's in the city. Pretty cool.  Taught some new buds, went on exchanges with Elder De Guzman, that guy's funny. He's in his first transfer. I remember in my first transfer I had no idea what was going on. Good times. I just couldn't believe I was living in this country.  Anyway though we got some less actives to church. And their daughter haven't been baptized yet so that our new goal! Other than that we met some really nice people. Especially this one girl, she was like 28 prolly the nicest person I've met here.  Mish has been good, I need to write more down, I've been pretty bad with that. But I'm still in Baguio and transfers are next week so we'll see what happens.  Love you all :) Elder Garry ...
