Maliganyang Pasko :)

Image
Maligayang Pasko everyone!! I hope everyone is having an awesome Christmas, really my fav time of year. So happy. This Christmas was one I'll remember for the rest of my life. We had follow up training in San Fernando for me because I hit 4 weeks in the field! It's gone by fast!! So we stayed the night at the Zone Leaders house in Demertis to split up our trip. Their house has aircon and is massive. I thought our house in Sison was nice, but their house was sick and had this huge living room and couches. San Fernando was fun and I saw my Batch (missionaries I came in with) and saw my old comps. Hahaha, good times.  Christmas eve (yesterday) was pretty chill, we had a curfew at 7. We went to a Brother King's house (recent convert) for dinner and played games for the kids. Super fun and they made SO much food. Like Pansit, all these types of Chicken, salad, spring rolls, watermelon. Super good. Brother King's family members have the funniest names. His first name is H...

No time, no pics

Got like no time to talk about this week, but it was solid. Went on Exchanges, on Wednesday with Elder Cluff from Utah. It was something, just two white guys that don't know Tagalog trying to talk to people. It tested me so that was good. I really need to prepare myself for when I have to lead an area.  One time this week we were teaching this fam and the fam has tons of kids and in the middle of our lesson, all the kids got naked and were bathing with a bucket and scoop beside the pump. There was probs like 15 kids running around naked. SO it was pretty distracting. Hahaha made me think "where the heck am I right now", anyways Christmas time here is crazy, theres this huge Fiesta in Sison and it felt like a Filipino stampede haha. It was sweet though they have rides and food and tons of things to buy. But we just had to pass through.  Theres this one family we have a solid baptismal date for in January, so I hope I don't get transferred somewhere else. They...

Baguio

Image
Hello, everyone!! This week was good (kinda). Really suck at Tagalog still!! But anyway the highlight was Christmas Conference in Baguio. Had to get up at 4:30 am to drive up there.  I met an Elder named Chan Boon from Australia that knows Tommy Dickson, because Tommy served in his ward. Pretty funny. Baguio is the coolest city I've ever seen, and not very hot. It's like your average summer day In Calgs. Feels similar, soooo many people there. Christmas con was sweet, President is hilarious and so nice to us. Really nice break from sweating my can off everyday in Sison.  The rest of the week was aight, It's hard sometimes, I can talk to people and its really frustrating sometimes, hard to adjust to Missionary life and Filipino life at the same time. But theres for sure benefits. My comp is awesome, can't complain.  Sunday we watched the Christmas devotional. Music was so good and the talks really helped me out. Super applicable. I loved the sisters talk...

So Hot

Image
What a week. First of all, it's freaking hot. Everyone carries sweat rags for a reason. Like yesterday, we got home from Church and it was probably 35 degrees in our house. Fan only blows the hot air on you lol. My skin is sticky all the time. But the nights are so nice, just perfect temp. So it has its pros.  I met a couple of Canadians! We live beside this International school, and there are tons of Nigerian students there, and one night when we were walking we met this black guy and he told us he's from Edmonton! Crazy so we talked for a little bit and he's been living here in the Peens for about 5 years. I asked him if English was his native language and he said yes and its the only language he knows. His english was so bad though, I think its because he was super high and couldn't speak.  Dogs here are so gross I feel bad for them:(  They either have flees, or super skinny and tied up, just roaming around everywhere. They bark so much too, its hard to tea...
